Bangladesh is a frontrunner in the RMG sector, with the highest number of green factories worldwide. Green HRM is both directly and indirectly influencing the Human Resource management policies to contribute towards a sustainable business environment. The study aims to enrich the green ecosystem and enhance the literature in the proposed area by investigating the effects of GHRM on green management practices (GMP) controlled by employees’ green behavior in the RMG sector. It takes a holistic perspective using survey data gathered from 126 RMG HR professionals, and the analysis was conducted with structural equation modeling. The findings show that green pay and reward do not positively affect employee green performance and GMP in our study. Instead, other environmental management variables, such as green hiring and promotion, training and development, and determining green performance demands, are important in influencing employees to display a profound level of green behavior and manage them “green”. The initiative of this study will help Bangladesh’s RMG factory managers leverage GHRM effectively to adopt and implement GMPs, which are essential for attracting foreign buyers and may trigger greater economic success. The findings of the study may inform future researchers investigating GHRM practices in other sectors and expanding on the related variables of this phenomenon.
