Abstract

The aim of this research is to examine the contributions of the components of employee engagement on knowledge sharing behavior with the mediating effect of knowledge sharing intention. This study collected data from 325 respondents purposively selected from 10 (ten) allopathic pharmaceutical organizations in Dhaka. For input and incorporation of sample data, SPSS version 20 has been used, whereas, for testing the hypotheses, PLS-SEM (version-3.2.7) has been utilized. The result showed that both dedication and absorption significantly contributed to employee KSB whereas, vigor exhibited an insignificant relationship with KSB. On the other hand, both vigor and absorption found significant predictors of employee knowledge sharing intention and dedication showed poor contribution. However, in mediation analysis, knowledge sharing intention showed a significant mediating effect between absorption and knowledge sharing behavior. Therefore, this research will be beneficial for researchers, practitioners, scholars, managers, and employees. As samples were collected from Dhaka, Bangladesh, this study will also be helpful for those who are interested in organizational development and knowledge sharing in the context of Southeast Asian countries.
